Please read this Policy carefully.  Klara Technologies, Inc. (“Klara”, “We,” “Us” or “Our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we use and share personal information through our website, application, and offline.  Personal information is information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or device (“Personal Information”).

We reserve the right to change this Policy at any time by posting a new privacy policy at this location.  Therefore, we encourage you to refer to this Policy on an ongoing basis so that you understand our Policy and are aware of any changes.  Such modifications will be deemed accepted as of the date of posting.

This noticedoes not apply to any information that is transmitted by patients and healthcare providers on our app.  The communication between patients and healthcare providers is governed by the healthcare provider’s Notice of Privacy Practices.

2. Collection of Personal Information

At various locations on our Site, such as when you contact us, we, or in the case of payment our third-party credit card processor, may request that you supply us with personally identifiable information (e.g., name, e-mail address, postal addresses, home, work and/or mobile telephone number, birth date, gender and/or credit card information) (herein referred to “Personal Information”).

3. Use of Personal Information

When you do provide us with Personal Information, we use your Personal Information for the following: 

  • Provide you with the services that you request.  
  • Send you information and marketing communications about Klara and Klara’s Services including brief questionnaires that will help us improve delivery of services to you.  
  • Use your information in aggregate, de-identified form to help us evaluate and modify our website and other related services or related marketing materials.  
  • Use and disclose your Personal Information to the extent such use or disclosure is consistent with your authorization. 
  • Use and disclose your Personal Information to comply with the law. 

If you receive emailed announcements or information about Klara, you may choose to “opt-out” of receiving further solicitations from Klara by e-mailing When unsubscribing from us by e-mail, please insert “UNSUBSCRIBE” in the subject line and the body of the message. Please note that even if you opt out, we may still send you certain Klara and Klara Service-related communications.

4. Disclosure of Personal Information

Klara takes its responsibility to protect your Personal Information seriously.  Accordingly, Klara shares your Personal Information in only the following circumstances:

Service Providers, Including Operations and Maintenance Contractors.  Klara may share your Personal Information with third parties as is necessary to provide services to you or respond to your requests for products and information.  For example, Klara may also hire third-party technology providers to host this website and to store your Personal Information provided to Klara.

Legal Authorities.  Klara may disclose Personal Information when required by law or legal process; when necessary to protect and defend the rights or property of Klara or others; or when necessary to protect the personal safety of Klara’s website users and customers.

Aggregate or De-Identified Information. Aggregate or de-identified information maintained by Klara does not contain any Personal Information about our users, so Klara may use or disclose it for any purpose. For any aggregate information transmitted to an authorized third-party, any information that may be considered protected health information is de-identified and discarded before the information is transmitted. From time to time, Klara may share aggregate, non-identifiable information about website usage with third parties, including government agencies and advertisers.

Cookies and Web Beacons

We may use “cookies” – small pieces of data or text files that are stored on your computer tied to information about you.  This information will help us enhance your experience on our website (e.g., the option of saving your username and password for the website by placing a cookie on your personal computer).  Cookies can store non-personally identifiable information, such as what websites, pages, or advertisements your browser has accessed and may be tied to the personal information you knowingly choose to provide to us.

Klara uses certain vendors (who are involved in providing the Klara platform) to make use of tracking technologies for the purpose of improving your experience.  

Additionally, your data collected by tracking technologies such as web beacons and pixels, which may include non-personal information, may be used for purposes of serving advertisements tailored to interests based on your browsing habits on Klara’s and other websites.  The use of tracking technologies by these vendors is subject to their own privacy policies.

You have some control over whether Klara or its vendors use cookies.  Most Internet browsers can be set to refuse cookies, although this may affect your Internet experience.  You can also erase cookies that are already on your computer, block all cookies, or receive a warning before a cookie is stored.  Please refer to your browser instructions or “help” screen to learn more about these functions.

5. Communications from Klara

When you provide us with your e-mail address or if you subscribe to our e-mail list or electronic newsletter, we may share your e-mail address with certain third party charities, and other entities consistent with our mission that we believe may be of interest to you. Consistent with our mission, we may use e-mail addresses to occasionally deliver information relevant to you, such as special events, benefits, newsletters, promotions, surveys and notification of other noteworthy news items. If you send us an e-mail with questions or comments, we may use the personal information you provide to respond to your questions or comments, and we may save your questions or comments for future reference.

6. Security

Klara is a Business Associate, as defined under the Privacy, Security, Breach Notification, and Enforcement Rules at 45 CFR Part 160 and Part 164 (“HIPAA”), and Klara maintains reasonable security measures - including encryption, granular access controls, and privacy and security training - to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of information on its Platform, in accordance with HIPAA. However, it is not possible to guarantee the security or integrity of information disclosed online. As no data transmission over the Internet is completely secure, we urge you to take every precaution to protect your personal data when you are sending Personal Information on the Internet.

7. Links to Third Party Websites

As a convenience to our visitors, the Site may contain links to other websites that we believe may offer useful information. When you click on one of these links, you will be transferred from the Klara Site to the website of the organization or company that you selected. Each of these linked sites maintains its own independent privacy policies and procedures, which you should consult before providing any of your Personal Information. While we aim to work with trusted partners and organizations that are bound by the same state and federal laws governing information privacy and security, please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites. We encourage you to be aware that you are leaving our Site and to read the privacy statements of every website that collects Personal Information. This Policy applies solely to Personal Information collected by our Site and does not cover Personal Information collected elsewhere, including without limitation on websites linked to from the Site.

8. Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Personal Information

You may request access to, request corrections of, or ask for deletion of Personal Information collected, used, or stored by Klara, and Klara may comply with the request in its discretion.  To make such a request, please Contact Us using the information below.  

If you are a patient, Klara does not have the right to delete medical information that is controlled by your healthcare provider.  Please refer to your healthcare provider’s Notice of Privacy Practices and/or contact your healthcare provider to make a request about your PHI. Your healthcare provider may be legally obligated to retain some medical records and information.

9. California Privacy Rights

This Section 9 is directed specifically to California residents and is provided under California law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), Cal.  Civ.  Code 1798.100, et seq.  

Under the CCPA, California residents have the right to: (1) request that Klara disclose what Personal Information we collect, use, disclose, or sell (if applicable) about them, (2) request deletion of Personal Information, and (3) request that Klara stop selling your Personal Information (while Klara does not sell Personal Information, the use of third-party web beacons and pixels may be considered a “sale” under the CCPA).

Klara may not discriminate against any California resident for exercising the legal rights described in this paragraph. 

Only a California resident, or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that a California resident authorizes to act on his or her behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to his or her Personal Information.  A California resident may also make a verifiable consumer request on behalf of his or her minor child.  You may only make a request to know twice within a 12-month period.  To make a request regarding your Personal Information, please Contact Us using the information below. Klara will ask you for some specific pieces of information in order to verify your request.  If we are not able to verify your request, we will not be able to fulfill it.

Requests to Know

If you are a California resident, you have the right to request that we disclose the following information:

  • Categories of Personal Information we collected about you, disclosed about you for a business purpose, or sold;
  • Categories of sources from which the Personal Information is collected;
  • Our business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling Personal Information;
  • The categories of third parties with whom Klara shares or to whom Klara sells Personal Information; and 
  • Specific pieces of Personal Information we have collected about you.

Requests to Delete

California residents have the right to request that we delete Personal Information, subject to certain exceptions. 

We may deny your deletion request if we cannot verify your request or if we are legally permitted or required to retain your Personal Information.  For example, we may retain your Personal Information if necessary for us or our service provider(s) to:

  • Complete the transaction for which we collected the Personal Information, provide a good or service that you requested, take actions reasonably anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, or otherwise perform our contract with you.
  • Detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, or prosecute those responsible for such activities.
  • Comply with a legal obligation.
  • Make other internal and lawful uses of that information that are compatible with the context in which you provided it.
